Volunteering with Senior Citizens for Community Service Day

Woodbury staff and faculty volunteering at Lyngblomsten on Community Service Day.

The Globe University-Woodbury campus closes its doors for a day in honor of the 9th Annual Community Service Day. On this day, the staff and faculty volunteered taking residents of Lyngblomsten, a healthcare, housing and services organization for older adults, to the Minnesota Street Rod Association (MSRA) Back to the 50’s Car Show at the Minnesota State Fair.

About 21 staff and faculty partnered up to walk the residents through the car show, where they engaged in great conversations while enjoying the nostalgia of the vintage cars. This is the second year the staff and faculty have volunteered with Lyngblomsten, and each year they comment on what a wonderful time it is to spend the day with the residents.
