These complications may take the form of parenting issues, relationship problems, or an inability to cope with certain stresses in a healthy way. The Department of Defense realizes that these problems have the power to affect the service member’s ability to perform assigned duties. Confidential non-medical counseling is the answer.

Help Solving Everyday Problems

Whereas in the case of a bodily injury or sickness there is a physician to examine the wound and prescribe a healing regimen, the same is not true for personality conflicts and family problems. Counseling offers one-on-one sessions for the affected service or family member with a licensed mental health expert. Sessions may deal with problem-solving strategies, stress coping mechanisms, and assistance with the readjustment from deployment to civilian life. Sessions may be held in person or online via the Internet.
