Why businesses need to consider leadership development from end to end

Talking about leadership development, most materials focus on identifying high potential candidates and making sure they have the programs and the incentives needed to get them to achieve that potential and become valuable human assets to the organization. However, the subject of high-stake leadership positions being available for them to fill is rarely broached on.

The reason is, of course, the delicacy of the matter.

If an organization appears to be pushing young and upcoming individuals forward while telling (in one way or another) senior leaders that they ought to consider retirement, it can come across as discriminatory and agist. Both are words that can scare the living wits out of any serious HR specialist.
